SKINS Websites
Cycling Australia have been wearing SKINS since 2009.
Overview:
Cycling Australia, is the national governing body for bicycle racing in Australia, and represents the interests of affiliated cycling clubs and State federations.
Kevin Tabotta, Cycling Australia's National Performance Director, clearly recognises the importance of implementing ‘state-of-the-art’ recovery techniques for Australian National Team and Olympic Cyclists.
In order to provide cyclists with the best recovery options available, Mr Tabotta collaborates with a large team of experts including Dr. Tammie Ebert, Sports Science & Clinical Services Coordinator for CA's High Performance Track Programs, Dr. Mark Fisher, Chief Medical Officer for Cycling Australia and David Hayes, Cycling Australia Physical Therapies Coordinator.
Collectively this team recognises the benefits that compression garments can provide to the high performance cyclist. When it comes to recommending compression garments such as SKINS, the experts base their opinions on in-house research, product evaluation and feedback from athletes. Sport scientists within Cycling Australia’s High Performance Programs continue to research the best compression garments and use protocols as they work to ensure Australian Cyclists have the best possible chance of producing optimal performances when it counts.
Although scientists may debate the precise mechanisms responsible for how SKINS work, according to Mr Tabotta, “one thing that is clear is that athletes like the feeling they get when they wear SKINS” and the improved sensations may contribute in a large part to the overall effect coaches and athletes are looking for when working with tired athletes.
