What is your greatest achievement? Playing cricket for Australia – It was always my childhood dream to wear the baggy green. What is your greatest cricketing moment? Winning the world cup with my team mates and scoring my first century at the Boxing Day Test against England. What do you believe to be your biggest or luckiest break? Getting a run in the 2003 World Cup Squad - I had never really played for Australia and only got a game because a couple of the boys were outed through injury and suspension – I knew I had to use that opportunity to prove myself. Any game day superstitions/rituals? Zinc … whether we’re batting or bowling… The very last thing I always do before running out onto the ground is put zinc on my lips. Favourite place to chill out, doing what? Fishing – I have some friends with property up north and there is nothing more relaxing than hanging out with those guys… in the outdoors, fishing and camping - away from the hustle and bustle. What or who is your greatest inspiration? My biggest inspiration growing up was the West Indies cricket team during the 70s and 80s and the way they played…I still revisit it today. Where will you be in 10 years time? I’ll own my own property between my mates in North Queensland and we’ll be fishing everyday…‘til our hearts’ content. If you could change to any other professional sport what would it be and why? Rugby League - there was a phone call to Wayne Bennet at one stage and as a result I was considering my options – I love the game!
